Vienna Baroque Room - 1850

A hotel room of superior category in Pápa, Veszprém County, Hungary - in a quiet and romantic environment

The furniture of our Vienna Baroque Room was manufactured around 1850.

The pieces are said to be parts of an Őrvidék manor of the Count Batthyány family. Baroque is a historic artistic style that became popular in the 17-18th centuries after the Renaissance. It was typical mainly in Catholic countries. The word baroque is derived from the Portuguese word "barroco", Spanish "barroco", or French "baroque", all of which refer to a "rough or imperfect pearl". It refers to the exaggerated decorativeness of the Baroque style, too. This artistic style is at the same time eventful and attractive with meticulously elaborated details. Its aim is to impress people with pomp. The birthplace of this artistic style is Italy, but it flourished in Paris and Vienna, as well. This majestic room is situated centrally within the block of the Old Mill. One metre thick walls and windows like of a fortress are the dominating elements of the room's feature. A rustic bathroom with shower-bath opens from this room directly. Television, fridge, WEB accessibility and an enclosed parking lot are the basic services.
